Sean will not be presenting the PowerShell class this month to graciously allow our two out-of-town guest speakers to have the floor that evening.
Hey guys! I've gotten permission from MS to grab the room before the meeting each month to hold a PS class. So I'm taking sign-ups for those of you who know nothing about PS and who really want to learn how to manage your DBs from the ground up with this incredible new scripting language.
This class will start with an intro to PS for those who know absolutely nothing and need the complete basics. Then it'll move to DB management and the many facets of DBA work.
There are so many things you can do with PS in the DB that you really owe it to yourself to learn how to use it.
So for those who are interested, sign-up with me. All I need is your name and contact info.
The reason I need you to sign-up is because I'm trying to make this an actual course and I'll need to pass out materials and you may need to come with a sample DB loaded on your laptop in order to go through the lessons in class. So I'll need to send the materials to you ahead of time.
Anyway, whoever's interested let me know. The class goes from jan-june so there will be plenty of time to get into different PS topics. And you'll have plenty of time to practice in between. So there'll be 6 classes total and I hope to move on to something else after that, like fill the 2nd half of the year with say SSRS or SSIS… something like that. I'd like to make this a fairly regular thing if I can. The plan is to take a single topic and get enough time with it to be able to do more than just scratch the surface.
